This family owned and operated business has been handed down from generation to
generation. In the early years, first generation Shelley Construction could be found
building new homes, and developing land in a small area of Hamilton Wentworth. Great
business speaks for itself; in 1994, the president of Shelley Homes was inducted into the
Hamilton-Halton Builders Association’s Hall of fame.
As the need for new homes grew in the Hamilton area, Leonard Shelley, the youngest son
of Shelley Homes, joined the family business quickly learning the trade, and going on
in 1980 to launch his own new home construction company, Shelbros Homes. Entering
the market at the onset of a building boom, he managed and labored on the construction
site of some 8 to 10 homes at a time. The story of his entrepreneurship has been featured
in major newspapers such as The Hamilton Spectator and his designs have been center
spread features in New Homes sections. Shelbros Homes, following the record of
Shelley Construction, held a consistent record of zero conciliation for a 100% customer
satisfaction rate with Tarrion, The New Home Warranty Program.
As Leonard’s business grew, so did his family, and soon his son Greg started working for
the family business. Greg gained vast experience in the construction industry and by the
time he was 18 he was running his own company. Starting as Greg Shelley Construction
in early 2000, his small crew of framers quickly grew and branched from new home
construction into renovations and disaster recovery. As business continued to expand
GreCo Construction and Renovations was launched to service the disaster recovery and
renovations end. Contracting to insurance preferred restoration companies, GreCo has
received many accolades and customer service awards. Now, as the owner operator of
GreCo Construction and Renovations, Greg incorporates the experience and successes
he has taken from his father and grandfather to bring his company to another level.
